                                               LEARNING STYLE INVENTORY

Learning style inventories are designed to help respondents determine which learning style they have. These inventories typically take form of a questionnaire that focuses on how people prefer to learn. Respondents choose the answers that most closely resembles their own preferences.

Visual Learner – In order to memorize or learn something, visual learners need to observe information or a task before they do so. This type of learners usually have strong visualization skills and can remember obejects, shapes and pictures just by observing it within a small amount of time..

Kinaesthetic Learner – This style takes place by the student carrying out physical activities rather than listening to a lecture or observing a demonstration video. They require manipulate or touch material to learn. This technique is used in combination with visual and auditory study techniques, producing multi-sensory learning

Auditory Learner – The learning style is a way of learning in which the information given is associated through listening. The main ways of learning is relied and focused through listening and speaking. Auditory learners must be able to hear what is being said in order to understand and may have difficulty to understand if directions are drawn.

MODULE 2

GOAL SETTING

A goal is a vision of an idea of the the future or a desired result that everyone envisions, plans and commits to achieve. A goal is roughly similar to a purpose or an aim, the anticipated result which guides reaction, or an end, which is an object, wether if its physical nor an abstract object. That has intrinsic value. Personally, for me a goal is mainly based on the lifestyle someone dreams to be in the future and the life of the hereafter. I would always remind myself of the hadith, words by Rasululah S.A.W which says ” work as if you were live for a thousands years and pray as if you were to die tomorrow”. I set those words as my principal and I am fully grateful for who I have become today.

There are 5 characteristics of goals which is smart!! Smart stand for specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time based. The definition specific is A specific goal should clearly state what you want to accomplish, why it is an important goal, and how you intend to accomplish the goal. And the second one is measurable. The meaning of measurable is Include clear criteria to measure your progress. At the end of your study session, you’ll be able to determine whether you did what you planned to do. The third one is attainable. Whats the meaning of attainable? Well attainable is a goals that should be achievable. you can determine whether you reached it.You begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. Inspiring, meaningful, challenging enough to motivates people to do it and succeed. The fourth one is relevant . Make goals that are important to you & your lifestyle. As a example, I am sure what I want to achieve in my diploma next semester and the last one is, time based. Basically time based is a Goals need to have a limited time frame. Set specific time / deadlines to complete your goals.

CHARACTERISTICS OF GOALS

Specific

What is it that you want, from a particular goal? What you want to achieve? Everything must be clearly specified.  You have to be specific about the details. It is better to write them down and stick it on the wall or door of refrigerator or any place where you can see it every time. If the goal has a picture, put it up. These specific details program your sub-conscious mind, and your focus shifts from the obstacles to the efforts that you can make to attain the goal.

Measurable

You need to identify the quantifiable aspect of the goal. This way you will be able to measure your progress, and actually remain motivated. For certain kinds of goals, you may not be able to measure the results, especially for relationship goals or spiritual goals, but you can always record the activities that you are doing that will take you towards the goal.

Attainable

Setting goals that are unrealistic can actually have a negative effect rather than positive one. It is good to stretch yourself a bit, so that you can grow more towards your potential, but it must not be something that is impossible to be real.

Some people set goals, more to impress others. Many times people set unattainable goals so that they can later blame their failure on the goal that was impossible to start with. So, set goals that may be difficult and challenging but not impossible.

Rewarding

The feeling that you get on achieving the goal is the reward that will keep you motivated in face of challenges and obstacles and prevent you from quitting. These rewards could be of different types based on the type of goals discussed in last page. It could be positions in your career, material rewards based on your financial well being, physical, spiritual, or relationships oriented.

Time-Bound

The final ingredient of SMART goal is that it must be time bound. It must not be too short, as it will make the goal unattainable, and not be too much. Time is one of the prices that you are paying for the goal, and you must give it time that the goal is worth. Setting deadline will also insure you against procrastination and perfectionism.

The bigger goals in the life must be set first and an action plan prepared to achieve them. These bigger goals are usually the long terms goals or life goals. The action plan of these long term big goals will contain smaller medium term goals with their own individual action plans, which in turn will contain even smaller goals till they boil down to monthly and daily goals.

LONG-TERM AND SHORT-TERM GOALS

Long-term goals is the objective of the goals that you set end of the year for yourself for four or five years from now,or even for a lifetime.

Short-term goals  we can set for an hour from now, end of day or semester.

MODULE 3

TIME MANAGEMENT AND SKILLS ORGANIZATION

Why do we need time management?

Time is limited. No matter how you slice it, there are only 24 hours in a day. That applies to you, and to your coworker who only seems able to do half the amount of work you do. But it also applies to the former coworker who consistently accomplishes more than you, and was promoted as a result.

You can accomplish more with less effort

When you learn to take control of your time, you improve your ability to focus. And with increased focus comes enhanced efficiency, because you don’t lose momentum. You’ll start to breeze through tasks more quickly

Become more successful in your career.

Time management is the key to success. It allows you to take control of your life rather than following the flow of others. As you accomplish more each day, make more sound decisions, and feel more in control, people notice. Leaders in your business will come to you when they need to get things done.

Reduce stress

When you don’t have control of your time, it’s easy to end up feeling rushed and overwhelmed. And when that happens, it can be hard to figure out how long it’s going to take to complete a task. once you learn how to manage your time, you no longer subject yourself to that level of stress. Besides it being better for your health, you have a clearer picture of the demands on your time.

Self-discipline is valuable

. When you practice good time management, you leave no room for procrastination. The better you get at it, the more self-discipline you learn. This is a valuable skill that will begin to impact other areas of your life where a lack of discipline has kept you from achieving a goal.

How do I manage my time? So basically I will make time for myself either if I want to study,or spend time with my family and friends. From this topic I manage to make my own new schedule since my old schedule did not my include my class. From fixed commitment calendar I manage to organize my time perfectly.

The next topic I have learned in this subject is taking lecture notes. Since our class is fully odl, taking lecture notes is very important because we need to revise with our own notes.

Why taking notes is important?

  • Keeps you alert. Notetaking keeps your body active and involved and helps you avoid feelings of drowsiness or distraction.

  • Engages your mind. Listening carefully and deciding what to include in notes keeps your mind actively involved with what you hear.

  • Emphasizes and organizes information. As you take notes, you’ll decide and highlight the ideas  you hear, identifying the structure of a class presentation. You’ll also be able to indicate the supporting points of a presentation, making study and understanding easier after class. Such organized notes also make it easier for you to link classroom learning to textbook readings.

  • Creates a condensed record for study. A set of concise, well-organized notes from each class session gives you what you need for study, learning, and review after class.

How do taking lecture notes?

1.   I  Put my distractions away I will keep my phone silence and turn on do not disturb during my lectures to avoid receiving distracting messages on WhatsApp or Facebook.

2.      I will ask questions when im confused I Don't write down things that i do not understand. I will Ask for clarification when im confused. If im not satisfied, I will ask the lecturer for further clarification during breaks, after the lecture

3.  the last one is I will underline, Highlight and Capitalise Lecturers often or draw attention to certain words or phrases. It is important to underline/highlight these words on your notepad to show how important they are. It might also be useful to start using these terms in your group discussions in order to get familiar with them.

MEMORY , IMPROVING , CONCENTRATION , AND READING SYSTEMS

                      3 TYPES OF MEMORY SYSTEM

Sensory Memory: The ability to look at an item and remember what it looked like with just a second of observation, or memorization is an example of sensory memory. Sensory memory lasts only an instant.

Short-Term Memory: Memory that can be recalled or remember without practicing, it could also be something that had only happened recently.

Long-Term Memory: Memory that can be stored in brain for a long period of time. For example, names, phone numbers, people around us.

Recall: Recall is simply bringing a thought or idea learned previously, and thus stored in memory into conscious awareness. When you remember something, you are actually “recalling” the memory. When you have to complete an essay exam, you are recalling information learned previously.

MODULE 7

ACADEMIC INTERGRITY AND PERFORMANCE

What is plagiarism? Plagiarism is “An act of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author’s work as one’s own, as by not crediting the original author.”types of plagiarism is turning in someone else’s work as your own copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit.the next one is gpa and cgpa . what is gpa and cgpa? Gpa is Grade Point Average  and cgpa is Cumulative Grade Point Average.

GPA stands for Grade Point Average. A GPA is a student’s mark and grade for each semester. It is calculated based on marks for each subject taken for a semester. Marks from each subject will be multiplied and divided with the number of credit hours taken.

CGPA stands for Cumulative Grade Point Average. A CGPA is the average of the cumulative marks for all semesters taken. The amount of pointers from the first semester will be added with the total marks of each semester right up to the final semester. Students can increase their CGPA by increasing their GPAs for each semester.

The obstacles that I need to overcome during this odl

  Technical Issues

Many students are not well equipped with a high internet connection that is required for online learning. Due to this, they face problems in going live for virtual learning and other platforms that require internet connection. They face technical issues as they are not much aware of technology and computer applications. A slow and high internet connection can play an important role in how quickly you can attend the class and do not miss any live sessions.

Time Management

In many cases students find difficulty in managing their time with online learning. Online learning is completely new for them and requires intensive work. They need a scheduled planner to manage their time in an effective manner. Online learning provides flexible time unlike traditional classrooms. But some face difficulties in adjusting to the time required for online learning.

Self Motivation

Students start losing hope once they find difficulty in online learning. It requires motivation to complete tasks and engage students with their learning. Lack of motivation is a common challenge for all students.
